Interns Insights
A brief report about the Interns Program
Programming is like an art — both the process of writing code and the code in itself. Converting an idea that existed in your mind gives a person an unparalleled feeling. It’s a kind of mindfulness that keeps you in a state of flow when you love the work you do. And, when your product impacts many lives, give them the ability to find their right path—it’s both exciting and scary!
At Interns Pakistan, we have had this opportunity to build something that is currently being used by a community of more than 65 thousand developers through our immersive programs which prepare the students for the world’s most in-demand careers.

Curriculum
This curriculum aims to assign a certain number of days to each technology and encourages interns to move to the next once that number of days is up.
HTML is the skeleton of all the web pages. It is the foundation of web development. Even in the javascript-based frameworks, you end up writing HTML in one form or another. Hence a key skill to start with.
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a style sheet language used for describing the presentation of a document written in a markup language like HTML. CSS is a cornerstone technology of the World Wide Web, alongside HTML and JavaScript as it enables the separation of presentation and content, including layout, colors, and fonts.
CSS Flexible Box Layout, commonly known as Flexbox, is a CSS 3 web layout model. It is in the W3C’s candidate recommendation stage. The flex layout allows responsive elements within a container to be automatically arranged depending upon screen size.
Responsive web design is the practice of building a website suitable to work on every device and every screen size, no matter how large or small, mobile or desktop. Responsive web design is focused around providing an intuitive and gratifying experience for everyone. Desktop computer and cell phone users alike all benefit from responsive websites.
Bootstrap is a free and open-source CSS framework directed at responsive, mobile-first front-end web development. It contains CSS- and JavaScript-based design templates for typography, forms, buttons, navigation, and other interface components.
JavaScript is most commonly used as a scripting language and most of the advanced languages and frameworks use JavaScript now, hence it was key to give them a brief view.
JavaScript ES6 brings new syntax and new awesome features to make your code more modern and more readable. It allows you to write less code and do more. Hence, essential to learn for modern day coders.
jQuery is a lightweight, “write less, do more”, JavaScript library. The purpose of jQuery is to make it much easier to use JavaScript on your website. jQuery takes a lot of common tasks that require many lines of JavaScript code to accomplish, and wraps them into methods that you can call with a single line of code.
PHP is a language that is easy to learn. Hence the students who have issues in learning to code, PHP could be a good starter for them. And we need it in this program due to WordPress.
WordPress powers 22.5% of all websites on the internet, hence its the most powerful CMS. Plus an angle that needs to be taught here is that WordPress is not just a blog, it is a lot more.
It is anticipated that everyone is at a different level of proficiency when starting this challenge, and that’s okay. Beginner and expert front-end developers alike can benefit from timeboxed practice in each of these areas.
Intuitive Internship
To make it interesting, the interns program was turned into a form of a competition, you only stay if you learn and clear challenges.
